Job Specifications:
- The Faircape Group is made up of several companies involved in various fields, including healthcare, retirement homes, restaurants, catering, and related services.
- We have six prime locations in the Western Cape and are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our Restaurant and Catering team at our facility in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.
- The successful candidate will work closely with the chefs on-site and help ensure the overall success of our food services.

The following duties include, but are not limited to:
- Manage and watch over the cooking process from beginning to end, including getting ready and serving the food.
- Make tasty meals and baked goods for the Coffee Shop.
- Oversee and prepare daily meals for healthcare, including different 3-course menus that change every four weeks.
- Prepare meals following specific recipes and guidelines.
- Make sure to follow the ingredient and presentation guidelines closely to ensure each meal is high quality and consistent.
- Check and measure the right food temperatures when cooking and serving meals.
- Work with the team to manage stock differences, keep inventory accurate, and reduce mistakes.
- Keep the kitchen clean and organized, and follow health and safety guidelines.
- Make sure daily food safety documents and paperwork are current.
- Encourage a friendly and cooperative work atmosphere among kitchen staff.
- Supervise and help chefs, making sure they get weekly training and follow food safety rules and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
Qualifications:
- Chef's diploma or qualification from a recognized school.
Qualifications and Background/Experience:
- Experience working as a Senior Chef.
- Knowledge of managing food quality and maintaining standards.
- Keeping in good shape and having stamina.
- Skilled in different cooking and baking methods.
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen.
Skills and Qualities:
- Leadership Skills: Good at leading and managing a team to motivate and guide them.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Able to adjust to changes and handle different situations easily.

Working Hours:
You will work 16.25 shifts each month, from 07:00 to 19:00, Monday to Sunday. Flexibility is needed to support the company's standby procedures.
Salary:
Starting from R 28,000 Cost to Company per month. Salary will depend on your experience, qualifications, skills, and attributes.
