Overview:
Join Omnia, a leading fertilizer division, as an Artisan-Electrical to play a key role in maintaining, inspecting, and repairing plant equipment. This position focuses on performing shutdown work, ensuring equipment reliability, and implementing maintenance activities. All responsibilities align with world-class manufacturing practices, aimed at optimizing plant performance and ensuring safety.
Qualifications:
- Matric/Grade 12 (with Maths and Science)
 - N2 or N3 Engineering qualifications
 - Red Seal Trade-specific Artisan Certification (Electrical)
 
Experience
- 2-5 years of experience in a maintenance environment as an artisan.
 
Key Responsibilities;
- OHS Act Compliance: Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
 - PPM & Strategic Maintenance: Execute preventive and strategic maintenance work to ensure plant uptime.
 - Spares Procurement & Usage: Oversee the efficient use of spares.
 - Downtime & Incident Reporting: Report downtime and equipment issues to minimize production losses.
 - Quality Control (QC): Ensure quality in preventive maintenance inspections and schedules.
 - 5S Principles: Drive the implementation of 5S standards to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
 
Key Competencies:
- Technical Knowledge: Expertise in plant maintenance, fault finding, and problem solving.
 - Behavioral Competencies: Strong teamwork, decision-making, planning, and adaptability.
 - Functional Competency: Ability to coach and mentor, manage resources, and drive results.
 - Leadership Competency: Ability to motivate others and ensure effective communication across teams.
 
Additional Skills:
- Proficient in the OHS Act, machinery regulations, and fault-finding techniques.
 - Experienced in the 5S principle application and ensuring organizational standards.
 - Computer literate and capable of managing job orders and maintenance schedules effectively.
