Looking for a job in logistics and transport? For its round-the-clock operations, a top logistics company in Pretoria North, Gauteng, is looking to hire a call centre operator. If you have call centre or logistics experience, this could be the right permanent position for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Breakdown & Maintenance Coordination
- Arrange truck repairs and maintenance with dealerships or approved service providers.
- Handle trailer breakdowns by coordinating with authorized repair vendors.
- Update the Fleet Controller regularly with progress and repair status.
Fuel Authorization (Diesel)
- Approve diesel fill-ups for drivers at approved filling stations.
- Provide drivers with authorization numbers for diesel.
- Record fleet number, litres, date, time, and kilometres in the system.
Load Data Capturing
- Capture loading and offloading details: client, time, load mass, kilometres.
- Track truck locations and monitor route compliance.
- Contact drivers if they deviate from assigned routes.
Journey Management & Driver Sleep Plans
- Report delays and route deviations to Fleet Controller.
- Ensure drivers follow rest and sleep schedules.
- Activate recovery plans in case of emergencies or incidents.
Pool Vehicle Management
- Handle requests, bookings, and inspections of company vehicles.
- Report any damages to the Technical Manager.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12 / Matric (required)
- Experience: 2–3 years in logistics, transport, or call centre operations
- Languages: Fluent in English (Afrikaans or another SA language is a plus)
- Transport: Must be able to commute or relocate to Pretoria North
