Looking for a Senior Safety Officer Job in Durban?
We are hiring a Senior Safety Officer for a permanent position based in Mobeni, Durban. If you’re an experienced professional in occupational health and safety with a passion for risk management and compliance, we want to hear from you!
This is a fantastic opportunity to take full ownership of the SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) function on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and implement safety systems across the site
- Ensure full compliance with SHEQ standards and South African safety regulations
- Conduct risk assessments and drive proactive risk management
- Lead safety training and awareness campaigns
- Investigate and report on incidents and near-misses
- Assist with internal audits and legal compliance checks
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- 5+ years in a similar Health & Safety role
- SAMTRAC qualification is essential
- Strong MS Office skills (Intermediate level preferred)
- Internal Auditor certificate (IMS) – Advantageous
- Understanding ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 is beneficial.
