South African National Parks (SANParks) is looking for a dedicated and physically fit individual to join the Mooiplaas Ranger Section as a General Worker. This is a great opportunity to work in the heart of the Kruger National Park and contribute to the daily care and maintenance of one of South Africa’s most treasured conservation areas.
What the Job Is About
The General Worker will perform a variety of physical and maintenance tasks that support the functioning and preservation of the Mooiplaas Ranger Section. The role involves working outdoors, supporting environmental operations, and assisting with upkeep around the ranger post.
Key Responsibilities
- Manual labour to maintain water provision systems
- Participation in game capture operations
- Disposing of waste and maintaining cleanliness
- Controlling alien plants and assisting in fire control
- Preventing soil erosion through hands-on conservation work
- Assisting with general cleaning, maintenance, and any other tasks as directed by supervisors
Who Should Apply
Applicants must be in good physical condition and ready to work in outdoor environments. Prior knowledge of tools and safety practices will be beneficial. If you’re passionate about conservation and enjoy practical work, this is a great opportunity for you.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Valid Code B driver’s license
- Good physical health
- Knowledge of tools, their use, and maintenance
- Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) basics
- Previous experience working in a national park is an advantage
