Job Description
AECI is offering a learnership opportunity for a dedicated and safety-conscious Assistant Boiler Operator Learner. The position is based in Umbogintwini, KwaZulu-Natal.
Responsibilities:
- Follow safety procedures and ensure proper boiler operation.
- Maintain and clean boiler systems and related equipment.
- Assist and work under the supervision of Senior Boiler Operators.
- Monitor and report on product storage tank conditions.
- Load and offload sodium and chemicals as needed.
- Attend and complete the required formal training (Shukela Training Centre).
- Keep training records updated and available when requested.
- Follow Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures at all times.
- Be available to work rotational shifts after the 3-month probation period if competent.
Requirements:
- Science and Maths in Matric/Grade 12 or its NQF equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of process plant operations and maintenance importance.
- Medical fitness to work in a chemical environment.
- Interest in boiler operations and willingness to learn.
- Able to use basic hand tools.
- physically capable and at ease working in tight spaces and at heights.
