Artisan Job Opportunity in Durban – Bricklayer or Plumber Wanted

Help Maintain Durban’s Vital Infrastructure

eThekwini Municipality is looking for a qualified and experienced Artisan (Bricklayer or Plumber) to join its Water and Sanitation department in Durban. This is a permanent Level II position with excellent benefits and the chance to contribute to the city's critical wastewater network services.

What the Job Is About

This Artisan role focuses on plumbing and bricklaying work within the Wastewater Network. You’ll maintain sewerage drainage systems, repair or build manholes, manage a team, and ensure safe and effective site operations. The position also includes transporting materials and completing job-related records.

  • Repair damaged sewer manholes and pipelines
  • Construct new manholes using brick or precast rings
  • Ensure safety at the worksite with proper barricading
  • Shore deep trenches as per safety regulations
  • Supervise and instruct a team of General Workers
  • Maintain accurate job costing and scheduling records
  • Transport staff, tools, and materials safely to work sites
