Job Overview
RCL Foods is offering a Millwright Apprenticeship opportunity at their Pies operating unit in Krugersdorp. This apprenticeship role is part of RCL’s commitment to developing skills in the engineering field. The selected candidate will undergo training and gain exposure in various areas of the factory. The apprenticeship includes practical work, theoretical training, and trade tests to build towards a nationally recognized qualification.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate
- Minimum of N3 (N4 to N6 preferred)
- Subjects: Mathematics, Engineering Science, Industrial Electronics
- Trade theory in Electrical or Mechanical studies
- Proof of completion of Institutionalised Training Programme
- Knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environmental standards
- Basic troubleshooting and repair skills
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in practical training in different factory sections
- Undergo phase tests and a final trade test for certification
- Basic knowledge of conveyor belts, bearings, and mechanical tools
- Learn and interpret engineering drawings
- Carry out basic repairs to restore equipment functionality
- Conduct preventative maintenance and daily inspections
- Assist in identifying root causes of equipment failure
- Complete job cards and maintain accurate records
- Ensure all safety procedures and equipment are followed and functional
