Senior Cyber Security Assurance Specialist – Absa Careers South Africa

Job Summary
The role focuses on executing cybersecurity assurance strategies through penetration testing, risk assessment, threat modeling, and vendor management. The goal is to strengthen Absa’s digital defense systems and contribute to risk reduction across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage annual cyber assurance testing plans
- Conduct threat modeling and risk assessment for systems and networks
- Collaborate with stakeholders on cybersecurity assurance reviews
- Translate technical issues into clear business terms for reporting
- Engage and manage security testing vendors to ensure timely and high-quality delivery
- Support financial planning and invoice processing for cybersecurity testing
- Provide expert advice and cybersecurity SME support across the business
- Monitor and validate remediation of identified risks and vulnerabilities
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, OSCP or similar)
- Experience in penetration testing is beneficial
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and frameworks
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
