Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work
- SACSSP (South African Council for Social Service Professions)-registered
- Grade 1: No experience
- Grade 2: 10 years post-registration experience
- Grade 3: 20 years post-registration experience
- Grade 4: 30 years post-registration experience
Recommendation
- Valid Code B or higher driver’s licence
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver social work services to individuals, groups, families, and communities
- Address issues that lead to social instability
- Supervise and support Social Auxiliary Workers
- Engage in continuous professional development
- Perform job-related administrative tasks
Core Competencies
- Understanding of human behaviour and social systems
- Ability to apply social work theories and interventions
- Knowledge of social work legislation, ethics, and frameworks
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and planning skills
- Ability to mentor Grade 1 Social Workers
