Looking for retail jobs in South Africa? A leading business in the retail industry is hiring a full-time Store Assistant in Durban CBD. This permanent job opportunity offers a monthly basic salary of R6,000 to R8,000 and a supportive team environment.

Job Overview:

This role requires a proactive individual to support day-to-day retail store operations, assist walk-in customers, and ensure smooth business functioning.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 08:30 am – 16:00 pm
• Saturday: 08:30 am – 15:00 pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist and serve walk-in customers professionally
• Maintain a clean and organized store
• Handle daily sales calculations and cash-ups
• Track attendance and assist with team coordination
• Keep paperwork and stock records up to date
• Monitor and order stock as needed
• Open and close the store on schedule
• Upsell products using solid product knowledge
• Report store issues to head office clearly
• Handle customer concerns efficiently
• Promote teamwork and a positive environment
• Support sales target achievement

Candidate Requirements:

• At least 2 years of retail or general work experience
• Experience using POS systems and doing basic admin tasks
• Good communication and numeracy skills
• Understanding of stock control and ordering
• Customer-friendly and eager to learn product details
