Introduction
The City of Cape Town is offering an exciting opportunity for IT graduates to gain hands-on experience in local government. This 3-year graduate trainee contract aims to develop young professionals and enhance their practical knowledge within the public sector.
What the Job Is About
This trainee role involves assisting with IT systems, data management, and administrative functions within the Human Resources department. You’ll work with key systems, help manage databases, and support data analysis and reporting.
Who Should Apply
This role is open to unemployed South African graduates under the age of 35 who reside in Cape Town. You must have completed a 3-year tertiary qualification in Information Systems or Technology.
Skills Requirements
- 3-year tertiary qualification in Information Systems or Information Technology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Interest in public service and administrative systems
Key Responsibilities
- Check and update transactional documentation
- Manage service requests as required
- Modify and manage database systems
- Conduct research, analysis, and reporting
- Organise resources and manage admin tasks
- Transcribe and manage qualitative data when needed
