About the Role
The Artisan Fitter will form part of the engineering team responsible for ensuring that all mechanical equipment and systems are properly maintained and functioning. Skills and Requirements
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Recognized Trade Certificate as a Fitter.
- First Aid Certificate is an added advantage.
- Valid Code EB (08) Driver’s License.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a mining environment.
- Solid welding and mechanical repair experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain machinery, vehicles, tools, and workshop areas.
- Conduct maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems as required.
- Perform maintenance on de-watering systems and related mechanical infrastructure.
- Assist with the maintenance of winders and headgear.
- Support artisans during equipment inspections, testing, and repairs.
- Transport materials, spares, and tools for use in fabrication and maintenance work.
- Ensure proper use and care of equipment to maintain safety and efficiency.
