Job Summary
The Electrician plays a key role in supporting the Engineering Management Team by ensuring all electrical maintenance and project work is performed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The role includes supervising Tradesmen and Trades Assistants, performing preventive maintenance, and addressing emergency situations as they arise.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform electrical maintenance and repairs across all areas of the resort, including kitchens, guest rooms, F&B outlets, public areas, industrial and staff zones.
- Oversee scheduled maintenance in line with the preventative maintenance program.
- Ensure compliance with local legislation and council laws, including electrical testing and tagging.
- Respond to after-hours emergencies and fire alarm call-outs.
- Maintain clear, safe, and organized workspaces, following all hotel and departmental policies.
- Log all maintenance requests and updates in the maintenance book accurately.
- Support contractors and in-house teams, ensuring guest areas and hotel assets are protected.
- Assist with the implementation of the Perfect Room Program (PRP) and Public Areas Maintenance (PAM) checklists.
- Demonstrate leadership, communicate effectively with other departments, and promote a culture of discipline and high performance.
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- Trade-tested Electrical Artisan qualification.
- Fluent in English; other languages are an advantage.
- Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Strong leadership and preventative maintenance management skills.
- Budget management experience advantageous.
- Ability to work under pressure and independently while maintaining high-quality standards.
