About the Role
The Cleaner will maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout Air Chefs’ facilities, ensuring that work areas, kitchens, and common spaces remain safe, organized, and compliant with all food safety standards, including HACCP and Halaal Ethics. This role supports operational efficiency and product safety by preventing contamination and maintaining a professional environment that reflects Air Chefs’ dedication to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning tasks in assigned areas to meet hygiene and operational standards.
- Wash pots, pans, and kitchen equipment; maintain cleanliness in workstations and storage areas.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, mirrors, and floors using appropriate tools and cleaning agents.
- Vacuum offices, clean toilets, and change rooms to ensure sanitary conditions.
- Handle garbage removal and disposal in compliance with company policies.
- Operate and clean power-operated dishwashers safely and efficiently.
- Conduct deep cleaning according to the master cleaning schedule and specific project needs.
- Report maintenance issues, damages, or cleaning deficiencies to management.
- Comply with all HACCP, Health and Safety, and Food Safety Management System regulations.
- Assist with laundry preparation and garment packing as needed.
- Ensure adherence to Halaal Ethics, SHEQ, and Operational Procedures at all times.
- Support team members and maintain flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification.
- At least 1 year of experience in a cleaning or hygiene-related environment.
- Willingness to undergo internal Food Safety and HACCP training.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and the safe use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
