About the Role

The Human Resources Officer role at Clover offers an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, people-oriented environment. Based at the Atlas CDC branch in Boksburg, this position involves supporting HR processes across multiple branches, including Atlas, Nelspruit, and Polokwane. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruitment, training and development, employee relations, and performance management while ensuring full compliance with company policies and South African labor legislation.

Minimum Requirements

  • National Diploma and/or Degree in Human Resources Management.
  • Proven experience applying HR-related concepts and processes in a corporate environment.
  • Advanced computer literacy (MS Office and HR systems).
  • Fluent in Business English, with excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel off-site or stay overnight when required.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment, Selection, and Placement

  • Assist line management in identifying staffing needs and approving budgeted positions before recruitment.
  • Prepare and post job advertisements on the Neptune system.
  • Screen, interview, and assess candidates in alignment with employment equity (EE) targets.
  • Coordinate onboarding programs to ensure seamless integration of new employees.
  • Process appointments, promotions, and employee data updates on the HR system.

Training and Development

  • Identify and record training needs across departments.
  • Coordinate logistics for training interventions and ensure accurate administrative tracking.
  • Facilitate internal learning sessions and present training on key HR and compliance topics.
  • Report on training activities and maintain employee development records.

Employee Relations

  • Assist management in maintaining positive employee relations and fostering a productive work environment.
  • Provide guidance during disciplinary hearings and grievance procedures to ensure compliance with labor laws.
  • Support CCMA case preparation and representation.
  • Advise on HR policies, employee wellness, and conflict resolution strategies.

Performance Management

  • Assist management in setting clear performance objectives for employees.
  • Ensure that performance discussions and reviews are conducted consistently.
  • Support managers in identifying and managing underperformers through fair and structured processes.

HR Systems and Administration

  • Maintain accurate employee data on all HR systems and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Provide system training and escalate unresolved technical issues to the HR systems team.
  • Administer HR documentation for multiple branches (Atlas, Nelspruit, and Polokwane).
  • Manage employee benefit claims such as death, disability, and retirement applications.
  • Drive internal communications using Clover’s Hello Clover platform.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and group scheme requirements.
