Desktop Support Technician – Johannesburg
Overview
Motus Corporation is seeking a skilled IT Desktop Support Technician to join their head office team in Johannesburg. This role focuses on ensuring the smooth operation of desktop systems, hardware, and software for all staff. The successful candidate will provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, install and maintain equipment, and educate users on IT best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to technical assistance requests in person, via phone, or electronically.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops and peripherals.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop systems, software, and peripheral devices.
- Perform regular updates, patches, and preventative maintenance.
- Manage user accounts and permissions.
- Document all support requests, solutions, and system changes.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on IT best practices.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex issues.
- Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets.

Qualifications & Experience
- Matric certificate.
- IT Diploma or relevant certification (e.g., CompTIA A+).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a desktop support or service desk role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac OS environments.
- Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
