About the Role
Truworths is seeking a motivated and passionate IT Junior Finance Developer to join their Finance Development team in Cape Town. This role is perfect for individuals who are eager to grow their skills in Oracle PL/SQL development while supporting financial applications and business processes.
As a Junior Finance Developer, you will assist in developing, maintaining, and optimizing Oracle PL/SQL code for Oracle R12 extensions and peripheral database applications. You will work closely with senior developers and business stakeholders to gather requirements, design technical solutions, and implement automated solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with gathering business requirements and documenting solutions.
- Participate in technical solution design, code reviews, and unit testing.
- Develop and maintain Oracle PL/SQL code, including stored procedures, triggers, and views.
- Provide technical support for Oracle EBS applications and peripheral systems.
- Assist with user training and documentation of developed solutions.
- Engage in developer forums and collaborative initiatives to improve code quality and efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- BSc in Information Systems or Information Systems Technology diploma.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with relational database management systems (RDBMS).
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts and security-driven development.
- Experience with stored procedures, triggers, views, and SQL development.
Competencies
Essential Competencies
- Proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL on database versions 9i or higher.
Advantageous Competencies
- Experience with Oracle database development, including SQL and PL/SQL.
- Oracle APEX experience.
- Oracle Forms and Reports, XML Publisher, and Workflow Builder.
- Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS) functional configuration knowledge.
- Technical development experience including Unix/Linux, Shell scripting, Control-M Workload Automation, and Job Scheduling.
- Development using Oracle OAF and JDeveloper.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodology and AI applications.
- Completion of relevant Oracle courses or certifications is an advantage.
