About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Daily Plant Inspections: Conduct inspections of plantrooms, chillers, boilers, air compressors, valve stations, and spiral freezers.
- Preventative Maintenance: Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks based on work orders and maintenance plans.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and resolve technical issues in utilities systems to minimize downtime.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to PPE and safety protocols for ammonia systems, pressure vessels, and critical valves as per the OHS Act and SANS 10147.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance, and breakdown resolutions. Develop root cause analyses and quick fix routines.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- N3 Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Refrigeration qualification.
- Recognized trade test certificate.
- Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience with ammonia and freon refrigeration systems.
- Registered with SAQCC GAS (Category B Ammonia).
- Working knowledge of utilities equipment such as boilers, air compressors, and electrical reticulation systems.
