Mine Overseer / Mine Manager – Two Rivers Platinum Mine (Limpopo)
Introduction
Two Rivers Platinum Mine, a prominent joint venture between African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) (54%) and Impala Platinum (46%), invites experienced mining professionals to apply for the position of Mine Overseer / Mine Manager. The operation, managed by ARM, is located on the farm Dwarsrivier on the southern part of the eastern limb of the Bushveld Complex, approximately 35 kilometres southwest of Burgersfort in Limpopo, South Africa.

Purpose of the Job
The primary objective of this position is to optimise the mining operation by continuously improving current methods, processes, and equipment to exceed production targets, reduce operational costs, and ensure full compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act and related regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Mine Overseer’s Certificate of Competency or Mine Manager Certificate (MMC)
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Post-matric qualification in Mining will be an advantage
Minimum Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in a trackless mining environment
- Experience working in narrow tabular ore bodies is advantageous
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Platinum mining
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate production activities with shift supervisors to meet monthly production targets.
- Monitor and authorise purchase orders to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
- Manage breakdowns efficiently and ensure minimal production delays.
- Initiate and enforce corrective and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Control and monitor the distribution and utilisation of mining equipment and materials.
- Promote the reclamation and use of reclaimed materials and equipment where possible.
- Monitor overtime, standby duties, and labour utilisation across all shifts.
- Analyse daily and weekly production reports, identify problem areas, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure that all team members adhere to legal requirements and safety standards.
- Conduct and chair safety and health meetings, ensuring compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act.
- Drive the accident and incident investigation process to promote continuous improvement in safety practices.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify and control operational hazards.
- Inspect underground conditions regularly, identify substandard practices, and enforce corrective actions.
- Participate in the training and upskilling of subordinates and ensure competency certification is up to date.
- Develop and maintain open, effective communication channels with internal and external service providers.
- Prepare and submit daily activity and incident reports to the Mine Manager.
- Ensure compliance with all company regulations and legal frameworks.
