What the Job Is About
As a General Assistant, you’ll help with both planned and reactive maintenance tasks across plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. You’ll report to a Senior Technician and ensure that all equipment and plant functions are well maintained, safe, and operating effectively.

Skills Requirements
- Grade 12 and N3 qualification
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar maintenance role
- Knowledge of tools, fixtures, and materials in plumbing, carpentry, and electrical fields
- Strong ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to organize and control your own tasks
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance as assigned
- Support maintenance of electrical and plumbing systems
- Keep workspaces clean and organized
- Complete weekly check sheets and provide materials lists to the Senior Technician
- Adhere to SHEQ standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001)
- Perform other reasonable tasks as required by management
