Job Purpose
The Senior ICT Support will coordinate and support day-to-day ICT operations, guide junior support staff, and ensure efficient technical service across the campus.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Service Desk Support
- Handle escalated service desk queries
- Resolve complex incidents and report trends
- Update documentation and solutions database
Infrastructure Support
- Monitor and check IT infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
- Install and maintain servers and systems
- Coordinate infrastructure deployment on campus
- Manage user access and liaise with external vendors
- Run IT security checks and monitor systems
Software and Hardware Support
- Fix software and hardware issues escalated by support team
- Ensure proper licensing of all campus software
- Apply security updates on servers and workstations
ICT Project Support
- Train staff on new technologies
- Assist with IT venue setups
- Deploy updates as requested by Group AIT
People Management
- Lead ICT team and manage performance
- Conduct reviews and guide career development
- Implement HR policies and handle appointments and promotions
- Build effective team culture and succession planning
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- NQF Level 5: Higher Certificate in Information Technology
- ITIL Foundations Certificate
- MCSE or equivalent (advantageous)
- NQF Level 6: Diploma in Information Technology (advantageous)
Experience
- Minimum 2 years in ICT support or service desk role
- 1 year experience in an educational institution (advantageous)
