Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with company safety regulations and standards
- Conduct safety inductions and training programs
- Promote and enforce health and safety policies
- Update emergency procedures when necessary
- Conduct site inspections and audits
- Investigate workplace incidents and identify preventive actions
- Perform Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA)
- Liaise with Department of Employment and Labour
- Assist in maintaining ISO 14001 & 9001 systems
- Monitor vendors and contractors for safety compliance
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- National Diploma in Safety or Environmental Management
- SHEMTRAC, SAMTRAC, or NEBOSH IGC certification
- Proficiency in MS Office
- 3–5 years of safety experience in a technical industry
- Knowledge of the OHS Act and regulations
- Driver’s license and own transport required
- Registration with SAIOSH or SACPCMP is a plus
