Gold Fields Engineering Learnership 2025 – Rigger / Ropesman

Gold Fields South Deep is now accepting applications for the 2025 Engineering Learnership Programme. If you are passionate about mining and want to start your career as a qualified artisan, this opportunity is for you.

About the Programme

This learnership gives local community members a chance to receive practical and classroom training to become certified artisans in the mining sector.

Available Learnership Position:

• Rigger / Ropesman

Host Communities:

Applicants must reside in one of the following host communities:

• Bekkersdaal
• Zuurberkom
• Thusanang
• Hillshaven
• Westonaria
• Poortjie
• Simunye
• Kalbasfontein
• Jachtfontein

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 with Maths and Science
• N2 Certificate with 4 trade-specific subjects:
  • Engineering Mathematics
  • Engineering Science
  • Rigging Trade Theory
  • Engineering Drawing
• Must be medically fit and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Attend technical and on-the-job training as per MQA guidelines
• Participate in short courses and safety programs
• Maintain good work performance
• Observe and abide by all mine health and safety regulations.
• Wear all required PPE at the mine and training centre
