Empact Group is hiring a Health and Safety Officer to join its Supercare division in Secunda, Mpumalanga. This is a full-time, permanent role ideal for candidates passionate about occupational health and safety within the cleaning services sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain health and safety policies aligned with legislation and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate health and safety training including inductions and toolbox talks.
- Maintain health and safety documentation such as risk assessments and reports.
- Ensure compliance with OHS regulations and take corrective actions where needed.
- Promote a strong safety culture and raise awareness across all departments.
- Train cleaning and hygiene staff on HSE practices and chemical safety.
- Stay updated on safety legislation and recommend necessary changes.
Qualifications and Experience
- A certificate or diploma in occupational health and safety or a similar discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in industrial or manufacturing settings.
- Knowledge of OHS Act and OSHA standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HSE management tools.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to workplace safety.
