Looking for a new job opportunity in the Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) field? Our client in Germiston, Gauteng is hiring a skilled SHEQ Officer. This is a permanent position with a monthly salary between R 40,000 – R 45,000, negotiable based on experience.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain the company’s Quality and HSE Policies.
- Promote quality and HSE culture throughout the organization.
- Conduct safety inductions, Toolbox Talks, and refresher training sessions.
- Develop, monitor, and update IMS management systems and documents.
- Plan and manage internal audits to ensure ISO standard compliance (9001, 14001, 45001).
- Prepare QMS and preliminary data reports.
- Manage PPE stock, issuance, and records for staff and visitors.
- Maintain Permit to Work system documentation.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers regarding SHEQ matters.
- Ensure QA/HSE equipment is calibrated and ready for use.
- Provide internal QA/HSE training when necessary.
- Submit practical QA/HSE and environmental assessments for management review.
- Arrange services like waste disposal and health license renewals.
- Oversee environmental testing and permit/license applications.
- Develop and maintain IMS Management Procedures.
- Update SHEQ Induction Program regularly.
- Assist with IMS implementation and improvement consultations.
- Offer guidance on QA/HSE policies and procedures.
- Represent employee concerns in QA/HSE matters.
- Raise awareness of QA/HSE requirements among staff.
- Help conduct inspections and internal audits.
- Support investigations into quality, safety, and environmental issues.
- Attend monthly QA/HSE meetings.
Job Requirements:
- Matric certificate (Grade 12).
- NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Manufacturing or Construction QA and/or HSE roles.
