Job Description:
As a Service Technician Apprentice, you will support the Technical Service team in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial packaging equipment across Southern Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install packaging systems in industrial and food manufacturing facilities
- Perform planned maintenance on customer equipment
- Handle technical breakdowns and provide troubleshooting support
- Liaise with customers for diagnostics and advisory services
- Manage spare parts ordering and documentation
- Control stock and maintain critical spare parts
- Generate technical service reports and follow up on issues
- Ensure customer satisfaction and cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate with service technicians and external clients
- Travel extensively within Southern Africa as needed
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Technical qualification as Electrician or Artisan (or currently studying)
- Understanding of pneumatics and mechanics; familiarity with PLCs is advantageous
- Industry experience is an advantage
- Valid Code 08 driver’s license and South African passport
- High energy levels and strong problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good time management and prioritization abilities
- Team player with the ability to work independently
- Willingness to work overtime and on weekends
