Key Responsibilities:
Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ):
- Identify and assess risks in your area.
 - Follow SHEQ Toolbox and legal safety rules.
 - Use Integrated Management System (IMS) to report issues.
 
Business Processes:
- Ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act.
 - Manage hygiene and environmental risks.
 - Test air, dust, noise, and temperature underground.
 
Ventilation Tasks:
- Use instruments to test air quality, airflow, and pollutants.
 - Install and maintain ventilation systems.
 - Design airflow solutions for underground safety.
 
Dust, Noise, Illumination & Pressure:
- Conduct dust sampling and measure exposure.
 - Measure noise with sound meters and ensure compliance.
 - Check lighting and temperature using special tools.
 - Monitor pressure in equipment and systems.
 
Growth & Excellence:
- Improve processes using Operational Excellence.
 
Requirements:
Minimum:
- Grade 12 / N3 certificate
 - Mine Environmental Control Intermediate Certificate from the Chamber of Mines
 - 5 years underground ventilation experience (2 years in a supervisory role preferred)
 
Advantageous:
- Blasting Certificate
 - Vuma Modeling and AutoCAD knowledge
 
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
 - Safety leadership
 - Communication and teamwork
 - Decision-making and flexibility
 - Strong understanding of mining operations
