About the Maintenance Assistant Role
Clinix Health Group is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to help with the daily technical operations of Tshepo Themba Private Hospital. Your role is to ensure the equipment, systems, and infrastructure are functioning properly to support a safe environment for patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily maintenance tasks and attend to emergency repairs
- Perform regular checks on hospital equipment and systems
- Maintain electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning systems
- Assist with installations for electrical and plumbing systems
- Handle medical gas systems and use of chemical substances safely
- Complete and close job cards for all maintenance work
- Be available for emergency after-hours and standby duties
- Work with and supervise contractors as required
- Identify and report technical issues or risks
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain good communication with nurses, doctors, and patients
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) and Engineering N3 certificate
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a healthcare setting
- Good knowledge of:
- Air conditioning systems
- Electrical and plumbing systems
- Fire safety systems
- Nurse call systems
- Medical gas systems
- Understanding of building codes and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
