Purpose of the Shiftboss Role

Key Responsibilities

- Holding the Minerals Act Regulation (2.15.1) appointment.
- Managing labour under the designated area of responsibility.
- Ensuring the health and safety of all employees within their area.
- Inspecting all workings frequently, with blasted working faces checked within 48 hours and non-blasted areas at least once a week.
- Conducting daily inspections of at least one miner under their charge to ensure safe operations.
- Recording findings in the logbook and monitoring compliance with operational and safety procedures.
- Monitoring and controlling the Mining Plan to achieve the mining budget.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

- Experience in narrow tabular ore bodies is advantageous.

- Familiarity with labour legislation and mine management practices.
- Computer literacy is required.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
