Job Description

This IETP Learner FTC position at AECI in Umbogintwini is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading South African company committed to environmental responsibility and operational excellence. Candidates will support effluent treatment operations and uphold safety, health, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor effluent treatment using the PLC system.
  • Report abnormal conditions to the Operations Supervisor.
  • Call necessary technical teams (e.g. Fitters, Electricians) for faults.
  • Take extra samples and conduct customer composite retainer samples.
  • Monitor and manually empty sludge drying beds.
  • Perform plant inspections and report abnormalities.
  • Prepare work areas and authorize safety clearances.
  • Conduct mandatory gas tests before confined space entry.
  • Coordinate with waste-disposal services for sludge skip removal.
  • Communicate with customers regarding off-spec wastewater.
  • Verify adherence to all environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 with Maths and Science.
  • NQF Level 2 in Chemical Plant Operations.
  • capable of working overtime and shifts and in good physical condition.
  • Basic computer literacy.
