Gold Fields Engineering Learnership 2025 – Rigger / Ropesman
Gold Fields South Deep is now accepting applications for the 2025 Engineering Learnership Programme. If you are passionate about mining and want to start your career as a qualified artisan, this opportunity is for you.
About the Programme
This learnership gives local community members a chance to receive practical and classroom training to become certified artisans in the mining sector.
Available Learnership Position:
- Rigger / Ropesman
Host Communities:
Applicants must reside in one of the following host communities:
- Bekkersdaal
- Zuurberkom
- Thusanang
- Hillshaven
- Westonaria
- Poortjie
- Simunye
- Kalbasfontein
- Jachtfontein
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Maths and Science
- N2 Certificate with 4 trade-specific subjects:
- Engineering Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Rigging Trade Theory
- Engineering Drawing
- Must be medically fit and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend technical and on-the-job training as per MQA guidelines
- Participate in short courses and safety programs
- Maintain good work performance
- Observe and abide by all mine health and safety regulations.
- Wear all required PPE at the mine and training centre
