About the Role
As a Health & Safety Officer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe workplace environment. You will help prevent injuries, accidents, and occupational health risks by implementing safety protocols and monitoring compliance with regulations and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess workplace safety and develop improvement measures
- Assist with risk assessments and hazard identification
- Participate in accident investigations and maintain legal documentation
- Support construction and contractor safety on client sites
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Provide training and ensure operators are licensed and compliant
- Attend client safety meetings and follow up on corrective actions
- Prepare safety reports and present monthly statistics and trends

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Matric certificate
- Occupational Health and Safety National Diploma (NQF5 or equivalent)
- Certification in OSHA Standards (SAMTRAC)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a health & safety role
- Knowledge of SHEQ systems and risk management
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
