PPC is looking for a Specialist in Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) to lead and implement strategic safety and sustainability initiatives. This permanent position is based in Rosebank, Johannesburg, and plays a key role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment aligned with PPC's environmental goals.

Skills Requirements
- Environmental or Safety Management Bachelor's degree (NQF Level 7)
- 5 years of SHE experience in heavy industry or mining
- 2–3 years of supervisory or management experience
- Driver’s licence and own vehicle
- Experience in the cement industry is a plus
- Additional certifications in safety/environmental management are beneficial
Duties and Responsibilities
SHE Management
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce workplace incidents
- Take the lead in creating SHE policies and initiatives for cultural enhancement.
- Oversee compliance during EIA and EMP processes
- Analyze trends and data to inform risk management
Compliance and Reporting
- Conduct audits and ensure adherence to SHE standards
- Track legal compliance and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure accurate reporting of SHE data across business units
Stakeholder and People Management
- Engage with regulatory bodies and internal teams
- Mentor and coach team members to perform effectively
- Lead team onboarding, meetings, and continuous development
Knowledge and Standards
- Strong understanding of safety and environmental legislation
- Familiar with ISO and SAB standards
- Best practices in SHE management systems
