Job Specification:
Operator of the Control Room Level 2/4
Control Room Operator Level 4 position is available at FSS Sasol in Secunda, in the Specialized Services Division. You will report to the Control Room and VOC Manager. The Control Room Operator Level 4 is in charge of managing the control room every day and making sure all rules and agreements are followed.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications Needed:
Essential Requirements:
- PSIRA Grade B or A Certification And Grade 12 Certificate.
- 6 years of experience in security operations or working in a control room.
- Valid Driver’s License (Code B) and Defensive Driving is required.
- SASSETA-approved training in control room operations.
- Be fully skilled in using all security systems in the control room.
- Capable of working in a control room environment with a completed SAMEA evaluation.
- Capable of supervising the security control room at any time, 24/7
Preferred Skills:
- Security Management Training: Training in managing security operations and teams effectively.
- Conflict Resolution Skills: Ability to handle and resolve conflicts calmly and professionally.
- National Key Point Registration and Firearms Compliance: Must be registered as a National Key Point and comply with firearms regulations for business use.
- Attention to Quality: Ensuring high standards of security service delivery and operational quality.
Job Responsibilities: (Partial list):
- Build good relationships between Fidelity Security Services and clients by managing the security services well.
- Manage the security staff and monitor CCTV cameras.
- Check the site every day and make sure all rules are followed.
- Manage the daily activities in the control room.
- Lead a team of control room operators, making sure they are well-trained and working efficiently.
- Make sure company rules, procedures, and all relevant regulations are followed.
- Watch the facility's performance to ensure it runs safely and smoothly.
- Take care of the control room equipment and systems, making sure they work properly.
- Help investigate incidents and make sure the right actions are taken to fix them.
- Collaborate with other departments to make sure the facility runs as efficiently as possible.
- Make sure personnel files are up to date and that training renewals are scheduled and completed on time.
- Handle all administrative tasks like leave requests, overtime reports, duty schedules, and other queries from control room staff.
