 Overview:

Join Omnia, a leading fertilizer division, as an Artisan-Electrical to play a key role in maintaining, inspecting, and repairing plant equipment. This position focuses on performing shutdown work, ensuring equipment reliability, and implementing maintenance activities. All responsibilities align with world-class manufacturing practices, aimed at optimizing plant performance and ensuring safety.

Qualifications:

  • Matric/Grade 12 (with Maths and Science)
  • N2 or N3 Engineering qualifications
  • Red Seal Trade-specific Artisan Certification (Electrical)

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in a maintenance environment as an artisan.

Key Responsibilities;

  • OHS Act Compliance: Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
  • PPM & Strategic Maintenance: Execute preventive and strategic maintenance work to ensure plant uptime.
  • Spares Procurement & Usage: Oversee the efficient use of spares.
  • Downtime & Incident Reporting: Report downtime and equipment issues to minimize production losses.
  • Quality Control (QC): Ensure quality in preventive maintenance inspections and schedules.
  • 5S Principles: Drive the implementation of 5S standards to maintain a safe and organized work environment.

  • Technical Knowledge: Expertise in plant maintenance, fault finding, and problem solving.
  • Behavioral Competencies: Strong teamwork, decision-making, planning, and adaptability.
  • Functional Competency: Ability to coach and mentor, manage resources, and drive results.
  • Leadership Competency: Ability to motivate others and ensure effective communication across teams.

Additional Skills:

  • Proficient in the OHS Act, machinery regulations, and fault-finding techniques.
  • Experienced in the 5S principle application and ensuring organizational standards.
  • Computer literate and capable of managing job orders and maintenance schedules effectively.
