The learnership will lead to trade testing, ensuring that successful candidates acquire the qualifications and expertise required to excel in the rigging field.
Purpose of the Job:
This position offers candidates the chance to join a Rigging engineering learnership program, enabling them to earn artisanship qualifications via trade testing. Successful learners will gain hands-on experience in the rigging field and learn the skills needed to install and maintain lifting equipment while applying safe lifting techniques.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
- Completed N2 or NCV4 certificate in Rigging
- Subjects at N2 level: Mathematics, Engineering Science, Riggers Trade Theory, and Engineering Drawing
- A basic understanding of the rigging trade
- Medically fit to work in both the Refineries and mining operations
Training Programme & Responsibilities:
The learnership lasts 42 months and is conducted under the guidance of the Mining Qualification Authority (SETA). Throughout the program, candidates will gain practical experience in the safe operation of lifting equipment, learn how to move machinery of various sizes, and ensure all rigging tasks are done safely within a plant environment.
