Are you a skilled Quality Technician with experience in the automotive industry? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team in Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha! This position offers a competitive salary of R35,000 to R40,000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications, with additional benefits.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- National Diploma or NN Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Trade Test Certificate as a Tool Maker
- 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience within the automotive environment
- At least 2 years working with parts, assemblies’ alignment, set-up, and dimensional evaluation
- Proficiency in metrology symbols, dimensional measuring equipment, and CMM or CNC programming
- Experience in interpreting 3D CAD models and technical drawings
- Strong analytical skills and innovative problem-solving abilities
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD
- Capacity to function well under duress and make wise choices
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and plan measures to meet customer quality requirements, ensuring continuous product and service improvement
- Conduct dimensional evaluation of components for series measurements, first-off samples, final approvals, testing, and audits
- Develop and maintain measuring systems to ensure compliance with national and international quality standards
- Manage calibration of gauges, measuring instruments, and torque testing instruments
- Supervise and train Junior Technicians and new employees in metrology, skills, and behavior
- Provide measurement and SPC data for management decisions
- Ensure the accuracy of measuring equipment to maintain the quality of vehicles and components in line with ISO17025
