As part of the Alternative Operations Division, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of council buildings, property, and personnel. Key Responsibilities:
- Protection of Assets: Safeguard council buildings, installations, employees, and the public on council premises.
- Management: Supervise and mentor subordinate security personnel to ensure high performance.
- Reporting: Submit administrative returns and documentation required by the division.
- Coordination: Work with internal and external departments, agencies, and individuals on security-related matters.
- Shooting Range Safety: Maintain safety of assets and personnel involved in shooting exercises.
- Emergency Duties: Be on standby for emergency situations and deputize for the Security Officer when needed.
- Access Control: Ensure proper measures for access, egress, and loss control are in place.
- Escort Services: Perform security escort functions when required.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Police, Military, Security, or Law Enforcement.
- Valid PSIRA Grade A certification.
- Valid Firearm Competency Certificate (Handgun, Rifle, or Shotgun).
- First Aid Level 2 certification.
- Peace Officer Certificate (to be obtained within one year from appointment).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 4 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree (NQF Level 7) in Police, Military, Security, or Law Enforcement.
- 5 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role.
Salary and Benefits:
- Remuneration: R440,332.94 – R571,551.37 per annum.
- 13th Cheque, Housing Subsidy, Medical Aid, Pension Fund, and Leave.
