The Western Cape Government's Department of Infrastructure is offering funded apprenticeship opportunities for unemployed youth in South Africa. These are available in the construction sector for Electrical and Bricklaying trades. The programme will run for 3 years and 6 months and includes both practical and institutional training.

Minimum Requirements
- South African citizen between 18 and 30 years old
- Unemployed and residing in the district of application
- Relevant NQF certificate or TVET equivalent in Electrical or Bricklaying trade
- Pass in required subjects (Mathematics and Science or Mathematical Literacy)
- Good written and spoken communication skills in at least two Western Cape official languages
Other Requirements
- Medically fit and willing to take a health and substance screening
- Willing to travel to multiple building sites
- Must sign an apprenticeship contract with the Department
Competencies
- Technical and practical trade skills
- Numeracy and literacy proficiency
- Understanding of the built environment
- Trade-specific knowledge (Electrical or Bricklaying)
Stipend
R5 500 per month for the entire duration of the apprenticeship agreement.
