Introduction

The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), in partnership with the ETDP SETA, invites unemployed IT graduates to apply for a 24-month internship programme. This initiative provides essential workplace experience and supports digital transformation efforts in higher education.

Job Responsibilities

  • Offer IT support and troubleshooting to staff and students
  • Assist with network and system administration tasks
  • Support digital transformation and tech upgrades
  • Help maintain IT inventory and manage hardware/software installations
  • Carry out additional IT-related duties as assigned by supervisors

Minimum Requirements

  • National Diploma in Information Technology (NQF Level 6)
  • Unemployed graduate between 18 and 35 years old
  • Available for the full 24-month internship
  • No prior full-time work experience related to IT

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Basic understanding of computer systems, software, and networks
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
