Purpose of the Role
The SHEQ Assistant will implement and maintain Fraser Alexander’s SHEQ management systems to manage safety, health, environment, and quality risks. The role also involves developing basic SHEQ systems aligned with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the current SHE Policy is displayed and understood by all employees.
- Communicate SHEQ policies and goals to clients and teams.
- Ensure compliance with all legislative and statutory safety requirements.
- Review and update safety appointments quarterly.
- Advise management on SHEQ roles and duties.
- Conduct and review risk assessments and safety observations.
- Monitor employee medical status and injury claims (WCA).
- Submit regular reports to the SHE Co-ordinator.
- Provide feedback on special projects and conduct post-project evaluations.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- National Diploma in Safety Management
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Safety role
