Store Assistant – Retail Job Opportunity in Mitchell's Plain, Cape Town
Our client, a respected retail company based in Mitchell’s Plain, Cape Town, is looking for a skilled and motivated Store Assistant to join their team. This permanent position is ideal for candidates with experience in retail operations who are passionate about customer service and sales.
Job Overview:
The Store Assistant will be responsible for managing customer service, store presentation, stock handling, and supporting daily retail functions.
Working Hours:
- Monday – Friday: 9:00 am to 17:00 pm
- Saturday: 9:00 am to 15:00 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent service to walk-in customers
- Ensure store is neat, organized, and fully stocked
- Handle cash-ups and daily sales calculations
- Assist with staff attendance and team coordination
- Maintain accurate store records and paperwork
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder stock as needed
- Open and close the store according to schedule
- Promote and upsell products confidently
- Report store issues or needs to head office
- Resolve customer issues calmly and quickly
- Support the team in reaching sales targets
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of retail or related work experience
- Familiarity with POS systems and general admin duties
- Good numerical and communication skills
- Understanding of stock control procedures
- Willing to learn about the product range
