Boilermaker Description

Our mine is located in Limpopo Province, about 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort, and it is a top producer of chrome ore.
The successful applicant will report to the Chargehand or their designated representative.
REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM FOR EDUCATIONAL STUDY:
- Relevant Trade Test Certificate with at least N2.
- Driver's license with code 08 (B).
- Dover TMM Licences "A"
SKILLS (including, but not restricted to):
- 2–3 years of hands-on, trade-specific experience in a heavy industrial, mining, or plant environment/TMM.
- Advantageous: 1 year of practical experience with earthmoving equipment.
Tasks (such as, but not restricted to):
- To ensure maintenance and repairs are completed on the production fleet. The individual must also ensure that the vehicles they are responsible for meet the mine's code of practice for TMM operational use.
- To carry out maintenance and repairs on the production fleet. Ensure that the vehicles under their responsibility meet the mine's code of practice for TMM operational use.
- Keep the workshop and work environment clean. Help maintain the workshop's operational efficiency.
- Plan and organize workloads, spare parts, tools, and resources according to maintenance and breakdown schedules. Obtain necessary permits and safety declarations to perform work, following required procedures. Carry out tasks as per issued work orders accurately and on time. Complete work orders and return them to the supervisor for approval. Conduct daily inspections, whether scheduled or spontaneous, and document feedback on work orders. Plan jobs listed on work orders to ensure they are completed as quickly as possible.
- Conduct mini risk assessments and follow lock-out procedures in your work area and within your control.
- Carry out asset care activities as needed for the maintenance and breakdown schedule, providing accurate and timely feedback and documentation to all relevant stakeholders. Operate and maintain specified mobile equipment according to the Code of Practice, policies, and procedures. Follow the manufacturer's (OEM’s) maintenance service requirements.
- Ensure all equipment and tools are cleaned after use and stored in the storeroom according to labels. Keep your personal toolbox in safe working condition. Continuously inspect all equipment to identify and repair defects promptly, preventing breakdowns, damage, injuries, and production delays. Plan, order, collect, and use parts efficiently to minimize production delays caused by equipment failure. Maintain and service equipment proactively on a scheduled basis to ensure availability and reliability. Address breakdowns immediately to restore functionality and report them to the Chargehand/Foreman and Control Room. Communicate any unrepairable equipment to the supervisor.
- Foster effective teamwork and good communication by encouraging interaction among team members.
