Minimum qualifications needed:
For the Electrical position, you need one of the following qualifications:
N2 in:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Industrial Electronics
- Electrical Trade Theory
2. National Certificate Vocational (NCV) Level 4 in:
- Electrical Infrastructure Construction (Electrical and Instrumentation)
- Engineering and Related Design (other trades)
You must have at least 40% in all subjects, or
- Grade 12 with:
- Mathematics
- Physical Science
- Engineering Graphic Design
- Relevant trade theory
You also need at least 40% in all subjects.
The person chosen should:
- Be healthy enough to work in that area.
- Have a clear security background check.
- Have a valid driver's license, if required.
Preferred qualifications:
- Background in engineering work.
Main duties:
- Shows understanding of the program goals and tasks.
- Finish all parts of the development program on time.
- Raise questions and concerns about the program and its completion when needed.
- Follow all legal and safety rules.
- Perform all work to the set standards and training guidelines.
- Attend safety meetings when needed.
- Make sure to wear and use the required safety equipment.
- Identify dangerous situations that affect all jobs and help with on-the-job risk assessments.
- Follow all company rules and procedures.
- Create progress reports for discussions with the relevant stakeholders.
- Report any problems and obstacles.
- Share ideas and suggestions.
- Promote good teamwork and provide support.
- Develop and keep good relationships with all stakeholders in the business.
- Talk to the right stakeholders to understand the business context.
- Encourage and maintain a positive work atmosphere.
- Follow all mining standards, procedures, and company rules.
- Help team members finish their tasks.
- Make sure team members communicate well with each other.
- Actively help and take part in the specific organizational development plan, aiming to improve the culture as shown by a valid culture assessment.
- Follow international responsible mining guidelines: For SA Gold Operations, align with the World Gold Council's Responsible Gold Mining Principles. For SA PGM Operations, support the Enhance Together for Sustainability initiative. For US PGM Operations, follow the ICCM principles.
- Prioritize health and safety along with operational excellence.
